National Alert Registry Privacy Pledge

The privacy and security of your personal information is the foremost consideration of the National Alert Registry (NAR) service. National Alert Registry is completely committed to safeguarding your personal information and protecting your privacy.

Privacy Statement for National Alert Registry

Security Practices

National Alert Registry has established company-wide security practices for your protection. These practices include, but are not limited to, firewall security, the use of appropriate encryption technology, and the use of multiple levels of password security to limit access to data on a "need to know" basis. All employees are required to familiarize themselves with, and abide by, these safeguards. NAR security practices are continually reviewed and upgraded to provide adequate protection of membership information.

Automatically Collected Information

When you log on to the NAR website, the server may automatically recognize you by an encrypted Member Key, also referred to as a "cookie." This cookie acts as a unique identifier. NAR may use third party cookies and clear pixel GIFs (also referred to as "web beacons") to measure page views and email responses. These devices allow NAR to identify unique visitors to the NAR site and act as a counter for ongoing monitoring of site, email and corresponding future transaction activity related to a specific offer. These commonly used counters never collect Personally Identifiable Information.

Third-Party Cookies

NAR may use third-party cookies for the purpose of monitoring page views within the NAR website. These cookies collect no Personally Identifiable Information and are not used to track your movement across websites.

Third-Party Data Processors

NAR may use trusted third parties to collect, process and store your Personally Identifiable Information. These third parties, including contractors, sub-contractors and affiliates, are contractually bound to preserve the confidentiality of your information and can use Personally Identifiable Information only for the sole purpose of providing services to NAR or you. These third parties are not advertisers, and cannot use any Personally Identifiable Information to advertise their products or services in any way. Again, they work for NAR to help us manage our data base and effectively communicate with NAR members.

Third-Party Websites

While NAR makes every effort to ensure that NAR advertisers post Privacy Policies and observe appropriate data practices, NAR is not responsible or liable for the content or data practices of any third-party site, including those of NAR advertisers. As always, it is up to you to control the flow of your Personally Identifiable Information to any third party. NAR recommends that you read the privacy policy of all third-party sites carefully before sharing your Personally Identifiable Information with them.

Web Beacons

Web Beacons (aka clear pixel GIFs, or "web bugs") are a relatively new tracking technology that, in concert with cookies, can be used for tracking and recording all kinds of behavior across web sites. Because they are generally only 1x1 pixels in size (about the size of a pin point), they are invisible to you. NAR may use web beacons to monitor page views as a counter within the NAR site. No Personally Identifiable Information is collected in association with these devices, and NAR does not use web beacons to track your movement across sites.
